Welcome to the Montgomery Youth Sideline Cheer Program — a new and exciting recreational cheerleading experience for athletes in Kindergarten through 2nd grade (Flag Cheer) and 3rd through 8th grade (Tackle Cheer).
We are excited for a season filled with team spirit, sportsmanship, and community pride! Our cheer teams participate in the Suburban Football League, and no tryouts are required. Program Directors will assign athletes to teams based on age and other appropriate criteria.
Montgomery Youth Sideline Cheer athletes are expected to attend home games in Montgomery as well as local away games within the Suburban Football League Conference. Games are typically held on Sundays or Saturday evenings.
Montgomery Youth Cheer Registration (Grades 3-8): $275/athlete; $250 if registered by May 1st
Montgomery Youth Cheer Registration (K-2): $225/athlete; $200 if registered by May 1st
Register by June 1st to avoid a $50 late fee
Sibling Discount 10% each additional
*No work bond required but volunteers are necessary to run the program.

Required items you must provide for your athlete:
○ Cheer sneakers - Village Shoes will attend a summer practice where you will be fitted and
○ White ankle or no-show socks
○ White, fitted, long sleeve shirt
○ White briefs/tumble shorts
Practice:
Practice starts the week of August 17th.
August practices will be outdoors 3 evenings per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Once school begins practices will be outdoors- 1 to 2 evenings per week. When the weather gets cooler/darker we will move indoors. Once the indoor facility is secured, the schedule will be provided.
Additional practices may be added.
○ A parent/guardian or authorized pick-up person should remain at outdoor practices in the event that weather causes us to end early. Cheerleaders should be dropped off to indoor practices. Cheerleaders must have an adult to pick them up promptly at the end of practice.
○ Cheerleaders should come prepared to practice by:
■ being sure to dress appropriately in workout attire or practice uniform, socks and sneakers, with long hair pulled back.
■ bringing water!
■ bringing a yoga mat or beach towel for outdoor practice stretching
■ NOT bringing anything not needed for practice, like toys.
■ keeping cell phones away during practice time.
■ NOT doing any stunts or tumbling unless told to do so by their coaches.
■ coming with a positive attitude, ready to work hard, listen to their coaches, and help their teammates!
